Meilahden yläasteen koulu (background information)

About 400 students in the school, 3 grades – it is a lower secondary school for grades 7 to 9. Number of students in every class can range from 15 to 30, but usually around 20.

Curriculum offered: Finnish literature, English language in three different levels, Maths, Biology, Geography, Health Science (including sex education, balanced diet), physics, chemistry, religion, ethics, history, social studies (for ninth graders, teaching them about civic liberties), art, music, home economics, textile, woodwork, PE.

It also provides Finnish Chinese bilingual instruction in Physics and Maths (a few classes in Grades 7 and 8) for the first year.
